Jeremy A. Samuel

Jeremy A. Samuel is the founder and Managing Director of Anacacia Capital, one of Australia's leading firms focused on the smaller mid-market. Preqin announced Anacacia Partnership as the world's best performing buyout fund of its vintage last year and Anacacia are expected to raise the successor fund in 2012.

Jeremy is responsible for the overall management of the firm including fund raising and origination, assessing and adding value to investment opportunities. Jeremy is a Non-Executive Director of Anacacia portfolio companies: Appen, Home Appliances, Rafferty's Garden, and Roofsafe. He also originated and led Anacacia's highly successful investment into Lomb Scientific, a distributor of leading brands to scientific laboratories, where he was a director until its sale in December 2010.

Jeremy has led investments into family and privately held small-medium enterprises (SMEs) across a range of industries including in services, manufacturing and distribution. Jeremy is the Chairman of Anacacia's investment committee. He is the former Chairman of ANZ's private equity management committee and was previously a strategy consultant with Booz & Company where he advised corporate Boards, CEOs and private equity firms.

Jeremy holds an MBA from the Yale University School of Management where he focused on private equity, entrepreneurial finance and venture capital. He also holds both Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law degrees from the University of New South Wales. He is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and writes and speaks regularly on private equity and SMEs.
