Hon John Anderson AO
Hon John Anderson AO served as Deputy Prime Minister of Australia and Leader of the National Party from 1999 to 2005. He was Minister for Primary Industries and Energy, Minister for Transport and Regional Development and Australia's longest standing Aviation Officer. He served on the Expenditure Review (Budget) Committee, National Security Committee and Standing Environment Committee while in Cabinet. He was the member for Gwydir, New South Wales, from 1989 to his retirement in 2005.
Since leaving politics John has served on a number business and community boards. He was Chairman of Eastern Star Gas Limited from 2007 until they sold to Santos in 2011. He is currently a senior advisor with Miro, providing M&A consulting in the natural resource sector. He is a director of the Crawford Fund and sits on the board of Opportunities International's $3 billion micro-credit fund. John owns and manages a four and a half thousand acre property in rural NSW.
