Nigel Bingham

Nigel is Executive Director of Pencarrow Private Equity, New Zealand's longest established private equity firm, which he jointly owns with his colleague Rod Gethen.

Nigel currently represents Pencarrow on the boards of its two remaining portfolio companies, NZ Crane Group and Rishworth Aviation. Nigel was also on the boards of Phil & Teds and BJ Ball until the very successful recent realisations of those businesses for Pencarrow's previous 2005 fund.

Nigel has had responsibility for leading the raising of Pencarrow's most recent fund (Pencarrow IV) which achieved a first close on 30 November 2011 at just under $80 million and is seeking to raise up to $150 million in commitments. That fund will target small to mid-market buyouts and succession and expansion capital opportunities in the New Zealand market for businesses in the size range of $20 million to $100 million.

Nigel has 25 years' experience in private equity and investment banking in New Zealand. Prior to joining Pencarrow in 2005 Nigel was a partner with leading boutique investment bank, Cameron Partners, for nine years and prior to that was an executive at investment bank, Fay, Richwhite.

Nigel has a BSc (Hons) First Class in Statistics, an MSc with Distinction in Mathematics and a Diploma of Business Studies in Finance.
